Perhaps the biggest mistake that home buyers make is to overlook a great real estate value because of bad pictures. I think I am the only Albuquerque real estate agent who even thinks about the effects of bad real estate photos on the home buyers mind. Maybe that’s because I spend several hours each day as a real estate photographer shooting homes for other agents. There are many perks to this such as my becoming aware of new listings before they hit the market as I am helping to create the marketing for these new listings. It also allows me to see the strengths in every home I photograph.
Each area in Albuquerque has a different feel, unique type of lighting and architecture style. The way I would shoot Los Ranchos in the North Valley or even Old Town is completely different from Nob Hill or Albuquerque Uptown. Rio Rancho has a completely different city feel than Albuquerque. The Village of Corrales has a more upscale “country feel.” The Northeast heights and its many subdivisions each present unique opportunities for different lighting and approach to capturing the feel of living there. I will always take more artistic shots on the famous route 66 downtown Albuquerque. Living there is, I am told, as eclectic as the many great pictures have shown over the years. A certain style of person will live in different areas of Albuquerque. Photography brings out the colors and textures – the richness that is evident in the lifestyle of each area.
That is what makes Albuquerque real estate as great as the music and food in New Mexico. It’s all art to the locals. If the photographer did not capture that when they created the marketing for the MLS, you may just have to look beyond the photos to see the diamond in the rough.
