Los Ranchos North Valley… a different kind of lifestyle

I think this Memorial Day weekend I became an expert in the current Albuquerque townhome – condo market. I must have looked at 25 different developments with my out-of-state buyer who is relocating to Albuquerque for retirement. We saw some really great communities in the Northeast Heights and Albuquerque’s West Mesa. Vista Del Norte and the Rancho Mirage Condo community is the perfect choice for upscale living in a quiet gated area that is 7 years new. The choice became obvious for my buyer however when I drove her down Rio Grande in the North Valley towards Los Ranchos. The destination… Cimino Compound. To the west she can walk to the bosque and along the Rio Grande. To the east – the Flying Star. Does it really get any better? North Valley locals don’t think so. She told me that in the North Valley even the air feels different than anywhere else in Albuquerque. Living here for 25 years I find it hard to really put my finger on why the North Valley is so special, but I think that explanation is perfect for all of us to reflect on. Anyway see for yourself, take a drive down the 7 mile Rio Grande Blvd drive and breathe the air in deep? It’s a lifestyle unto itself rooted in 400 years of New Mexican culture.
