Iodine Insufficiency Awareness

Did you know...? Iodine insufficiency can cause both hypo- and hyperthyroidism.
Hypothyroidism is a condition that occurs when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. Early symptoms can include constipation, depression, fatigue, and being more sensitivity to cold.
Conversely, hyperthyroidism is often referred to as an \"overactive thyroid\" because the thyroid gland produces excessive amounts of thyroid hormone, and every function of the body tends to speed up.
