I have fond memories of Tanoan Country Club. After all, in the 90’s I must have performed at over 100 weddings, ten all-night new years eve parties, every Memorial day, Labor day and 4th of July. I had great friends there where we all worked together. I was a guitarist, pianist and DJ at the time, and Tanoan was on the map as one of the hottest wedding destinations in Albuquerque. During that time I got to know the members, locals and residents of Tanoan. They were a younger group compared to other country clubs and loved nightlife, action and… 80’s music. We got along just fine. From the women’s tennis club to the golf association, there was always a party on the horizon. So why do I bring this up? Partly because I miss those pre-911 days when the economy was spunky and people were willing to pay for their entertainment. Partly because I think Tanoan is a great place to live. Time hasn’t really changed Tanoan. We all are 15 years older but the homes, neighborhoods and golf course are all pretty much the same. They were good times!
