Journal Reports Increase In New Mexico Home Prices

New Mexico saw improvement during the 12 months ending with July according to a private real-estate data provider.  Prices increased 3 percent statewide compared to 3.8 percent nationwide. Distressed properties through short sales and the sale of repossessed homes increased these numbers, according to the Home Price Index released Tuesday by Santa Ana, Calif.-based CoreLogic. Home prices also rose 1.3 percent across the country in July from June. That’s the fifth straight increase in both the monthly and year-over-year price indexes.
